Evacuation Drill

The ski resort will use their app (Squaw Alpine) for reminders and communication regarding the evacuation drill set for 10 a.m. on September 21. If you do not have the app, search “Squaw Alpine” in the App Store on your phone. it is a free app called Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

Please make sure:

  1. You have notifications set up so that you will see the information when it is sent out via the app

  2. Be sure you have “location services” turned on for this event. SVAM will be sending the blast to everyone located in Alpine Meadows.  


Evacuation Details:

  1. At 10am on Saturday the 21st drive to the ski area parking lot, which will be a primary evacuation location in the event highway 89 is not a viable evacuation route

  2. The gate will be open, proceed through the gate

  3. Proceed to the indicated parking lot(s)

  4. Fire officials and the public safety staff are scheduled to be available to provide information and education about what to do in the event of an actual evacuation

  5. Share your ideas, comments and concerns with the Fire Safe Council member from your HOA:
